Over the course of this module I've developed a lot of skills that I will continue to use such as learning how to use Illustrator though it might have been one of the most thoroughly stressful weeks of my life I feel like it's something that was worth all the time spent working out how to use it and I was really happy with my final products. I've also improved my photoshop skills a lot in relation to scanning work in and developing it into finished pieces which I did in the final brief and intend to use in my cop brief now I know how to use it properly, one thing I really liked about my work in the final brief was the use of monotone colour this is definitely something I want to carry on with and experiment with, specifically editing the colour of the line work in photoshop and adding colour that way I think it could work really well with work done with a brush pen. I'm really happy with the way I've used colour in these brief I feel like it's really started to turn a corner compared to before where it was something i used to really struggle with, I think my best use of colour was in the second brief on the post cards where I set the colour palette before and used it to reflect the tone and atmosphere of the city at the time.
One of the main weaknesses with my work was not being able to actually draw anything for the first brief, i found this very restricting and because my work has such a close relationship with line it felt very difficult to try and move away from this and use a completely different media. I also found working in a group slightly restrictive I only think this is because half of my group didn't turn up for the entire project so me and Rosie ended up working in a pair which worked well but it was irritating to only be working with half a group whilst trying to organise when everyone could meet and people just wouldn't reply.
Overall I'm really proud of the work I've produced for this module and I think it's really forced me to think outside the box in regards to my responses to the briefs and force myself to try new ways of working as before the start of this brief I think I was starting to rely solely on just working digitally where as with this module I've used digital but not for everything, I've mostly used it to work from pre existing work or use it in a new way.

Visual Communication Studio Brief 3 Final Pieces
I'm really happy with how my pieces have turned out and after the final crit I decided I definitely wasn't happy with them so I went back and scanned them in and added colour and i think it's taken the work to a whole new level where as before they looked half finished I think they now work well as finished pieces and work well as a set. I think one thing that makes my work really strong for this project is that they really aren't what you'd expect from a Tarantino poster or postcards especially from the bright colours where as most Tarantino posters would have muted colours and be grim and gritty I decided to take it in a completely different direction that I think is unique to my work for this brief. If I had more time I would have probably cleaned up the colouring slightly.
Visual Communication Brief 3 Final Poster
This is my final poster for this brief after deciding that my work didn't work just as pencil drawings I've had to find a way to get a more polished look to them and by editing them and adding colour digitally i'm really happy with how they've turned out, I could have probably made them slightly better if i'd known this is what i'd be doing from the start but over all i'm really happy with it and the colours don't clash which was one of the things I was worried about. One of the only things I'd want to change is that some of the lines have come through to faint after being edited but there was no way around this as I had to get rid of the distortion from scanning in the images. I think the Kill bill one specifically could have been improved but from the little time I had I didn't really have an opportunity to improve them but I managed to get them to a standard i'm much happier with.
